The Brief

UDV Architects had outgrown their existing website. Their work had evolved, the studio had expanded, and the digital experience no longer reflected the quality or scale of the practice.

The goal was to rebuild the website from the ground up — creating a more contemporary identity online, improving how projects and services were presented, and giving the studio a platform capable of supporting everything from project showcases and case studies to editorial content, recruitment, and future growth.

The Challenge

Architecture websites often fall into one of two extremes: visually impressive but difficult to navigate, or highly functional but lacking personality.

For UDV, the challenge was to find the balance between both. The website needed to feel distinctive enough to represent the studio’s architectural character while remaining clear, fast, responsive, and easy to explore across every screen size.

It also had to handle a large amount of content without ever feeling overloaded.

Our Approach

We rethought the entire website experience around how someone would naturally discover an architecture studio — moving from first impression, to philosophy, to services, and ultimately into the work itself.

Rather than treating the site as a collection of static pages, we designed it as one connected experience. Layouts, transitions, interactions, and content hierarchy were developed together so that each section naturally leads into the next.

Every page was then individually optimised for desktop, tablet, and mobile to ensure the experience remained intentional regardless of screen size.

Website System

The website was expanded into a complete digital platform for the studio.

Dedicated project pages allow UDV to present individual developments in depth, while case studies provide space for more detailed storytelling around selected work. A full blog system gives the team the ability to publish insights and improve organic visibility over time.

Service pages clearly communicate the studio’s capabilities across residential, hospitality, commercial, interiors, public spaces, and specialised projects.

The site also includes dedicated company content, contact flows, and a complete careers section with a job application experience built directly into the website.

Experience & Interaction

A major part of the redesign focused on making the website feel more alive without turning every interaction into a distraction.

Motion and transitions were used selectively to guide attention, reinforce hierarchy, and add depth to the experience. Project imagery remains the focal point, while typography, spacing, and interaction create a more editorial and architectural feel around it.

The result is a website that feels distinctive without sacrificing usability.

Responsive Experience

Rather than simply scaling the desktop design down, each breakpoint was treated as its own experience.

Layouts, spacing, typography, image behaviour, navigation, and interaction patterns were adjusted specifically for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

This ensured that the site maintains the same level of clarity and visual impact whether viewed on a large studio monitor or a phone.

SEO & Structure

The website was built with search visibility in mind from the beginning.

Pages were structured around clear content hierarchy, semantic organisation, optimised metadata, internal linking, project-specific content, blog architecture, and search-friendly URLs.

Combined with the expanded number of service, project, case study, and editorial pages, the new website gives UDV a significantly stronger foundation for long-term organic growth.

Outcome

The result is a complete digital home for UDV Architects — one that better reflects the level of their work while giving the studio considerably more room to grow.

What began as a website redesign became a scalable platform for presenting projects, publishing ideas, attracting future clients, and recruiting new talent.

The new experience is more modern, more distinctive, easier to navigate, and built to support the studio well beyond the initial launch.
